General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

Changes to UK data privacy law came into effect on 25 May 2018 under the GDPR which gives individuals additional rights about the way their personal information is collected and used.

MYA Ltd recognises the importance of personal information and we take very seriously our responsibility to use it appropriately, so welcome these additional protections.

We collect very little personal data and that which we do collect is used in order to fulfil our legal obligations. The primary personal information that we collect relates to our grant-making. We would encourage applicants and grantee organisations to take steps to minimize the personal data that they provide under our application process, by, for example, utilising organisational email addresses rather than personal ones. We process – meaning obtain, record, hold and use – your data only in relation to our grant-making activities. There are also some legal, tax, regulatory and other governance requirements that require us to hold and process your personal information.

We will keep your personal information for as short a period as necessary for us to meet our legal obligations. We may sometimes be obliged to keep your data for defined periods for legal, regulatory or other governance reasons. After such time, all personal information will be deleted.
